Maddison has undergone reconstructive surgery and will miss a significant part of the upcoming season.
On Instagram, Maddison expressed his disappointment, calling the injury his 'lowest low'. He wrote: "I'm heartbroken that this injury happened at this time in my career. With the UEFA Super Cup, Premier League season, and Champions League campaign approaching, it feels very cruel."
Maddison is determined to return stronger. He wrote: "To those who doubt, hate, or mock me, you motivate me to new heights. I'll see you all on the other side."
