Morton spent seven years at Liverpool's academy and made 14 appearances for the first team. He had loan spells with Blackburn and Hull in the Championship but struggled to establish himself in the team last season, playing only five games across all competitions.
Liverpool may use the money from Morton's transfer to sign other players, including Alexander Isak from Newcastle.
