The game got off to a slow start, with Rafa Mir missing a clear chance in the early stages. However, Elche took the lead shortly afterwards through Isaac Romero's brilliant strike from 20 yards out.

Despite having more possession and chances, Elche struggled to find the back of the net, with many missed opportunities epitomised by Victor Chust and Martim Neto's misses. The hosts eventually found the equaliser in the 54th minute, with Andre Silva netting his first goal since March.

Elche showed their character and determination to come back from behind, and they eventually completed the comeback in the 85th minute. Rafa Mir curled a delicious free-kick from long range around the wall and past the goalkeeper.

Sevilla made some attacking changes as they desperately tried to avoid a third defeat in four games, but Peque Fernandez's late equaliser was not enough to secure a win for the hosts. The 2-2 draw means Elche are unbeaten after their opening four LaLiga games for the first time this century.
