Chelsea aims to release several players before the new season starts to comply with financial rules. Manager Enzo Maresca has been strengthening the team's attack with new additions, leaving little room for another attacking player. This includes signings such as Joao Pedro, Liam Delap, and Jamie Gittens.
Chelsea spent £45 million on signing Felix just last summer but he has had a disappointing spell with the team. In the first half of the season, Felix played only 12 Premier League games before being loaned to AC Milan, where he made three goal contributions in 21 appearances.
Felix is said to be eager to return to Portugal, which would allow him to reunite with former Wolves manager Bruno Lage. Maresca did not select Felix for the Club World Cup squad and has no plans to use him in the future, indicating that a move away from the team is likely.
If sold, Felix's departure would result in a deal worth around £35 million, leaving Chelsea with a £10 million loss. This is an early setback for the club as they try to balance their finances and release other players who will not feature in the new campaign.
