Ghana international Jordan Ayew has expressed his thoughts on Leicester City's relegation to the English Championship. The midfielder signed a two-year contract with the Foxes in August 2024, but the team struggled to find consistency, winning only six of their 38 matches in the 2024/25 season.
Ayew is still trying to understand the reasons behind Leicester City's poor performance, despite showing flashes of brilliance at the start of the season. He believes that time is needed to reflect on the season and figure out what went wrong.
"I need time to reflect on the whole season," Ayew said. "I haven't had time to think about it yet, and I need to go on holiday and sit down to think about what happened."
Ayew's comments come as speculation grows about his future at the club. He still has a year left on his contract, but there are rumors that he may leave in search of top-flight football. Ayew, however, is in no rush to make a decision.
"I have one more year left on my contract, and I need to go on holiday and see what is going to happen," he said. "Staying is an option, and leaving is also an option, but I am happy at Leicester City."
Ayew has been a valuable player for Leicester City, featuring in various attacking roles and making important contributions to the team. He has made 36 appearances across all competitions and scored six goals.
Leicester City is already preparing for life in the Championship, with several players, including Jamie Vardy, leaving the club. Ayew has paid tribute to Vardy, who departed after 13 years with the club.
"He has done marvelously well for the club," Ayew said. "He is a good guy, and I enjoyed my time with him."
Ayew hopes to continue playing football and enjoying himself, which is what makes him happy.
