Currently, Tomiyasu is recovering from a knee injury he sustained. He only played for six minutes during the last season due to this injury.

Tomiyasu still had one year remaining on his contract, but he and Arsenal have now decided to go their separate ways.

Arsenal has agreed to pay Tomiyasu for the remaining year of his contract.

Tomiyasu joined Arsenal in 2021 from Bologna and played 79 matches for the team.
